The Green Energy Train project aimed at 10% energy saving in households via behavioural changes. The target group consisted of tenants of social housing who had moved into newly built houses. They were educated and informed about energy savings based on the philosophy of 'Live Energy'. Testing this educational method was a secondary goal of the project.
The project did not reach the 10% energy saving. The recruitment efforts did not result in the desired numbers of participants and the people recruited to become coaches dropped out during the training. Although the method was intended to be demand-driven, the underlying theoretical approach remained unchanged and was not tailered to the particular target group at all (participants had difficulties with the lack of concreteness).
